King Edward - manufacturers of the world's first counter top potato baker

Like most success stories ours was a simple idea that has never stopped being relevant. There has always been a demand for hot, delicious food - the only thing that has changed over the years is how you cook, store, display and serve it.

That's why our initial product design - the King Edward counter top Potato Baker available in a choice of hard wearing and attractive vitreous enamel finishes - is still the cornerstone of our business. The Potato Baker challenged current convention at the time - why have different pieces of equipment and display utensils when you can achieve the same result in one elegant solution?

Manufacturing of the King Edward range remains under the same family ownership today. Over the past 20 + years we've refined the product specifications, changed some components, and added some new model variations.

What we haven't done is change the way we build and support our products:

  • That is why we still hand finish every oven that leaves our factory, ensuring every casting, panel, hinge and seal is aligned correctly and fits perfectly to ensure maximum operating performance.
  • That is why we still undertake a two-time testing process at build and despatch stages, to ensure every oven is operating to its full potential when it arrives at customer site. Our record for product failures within the first 12 month warranty period is probably one of the lowest you can find for any piece of commercial catering equipment.
  • That is why we have never cut corners on sourcing components, ensuring that the critical components such as fan motors, oven insulation, elements and thermostats are the best we can build into our finished products.
  • That is why we offer next day delivery on all replaceable parts to ensure any oven downtime is kept to the absolute minimum. We know this is critical, because when the oven isn't working, you're losing money or not serving your clients, whether they are schoolchildren or paying customers.

Twenty years on we're still a family owned business based in Herefordshire. But with our simple philosophy we now supply thousands of products each year to a host of different countries around the world - from Kuwait to Thailand, France to Australia, and Lithuania to the US.
